Together for Families Multi-Agency Child Protection Procedures

Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) Operating Procedures Consultation
About the consultation

The Cheshire East Safeguarding Children's Partnership (CESCP) is seeking feedback on the draft Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) Operating Procedures.

As part of Together for Families, our local implementation of the national Families First reforms, Cheshire East is preparing to introduce a test-and-learn phase of new child protection arrangements.

The MACPT Operating Procedures explain how agencies will work together to fulfil their child protection responsibilities. They are intended to strengthen multi-agency working, support effective decision-making, and improve outcomes for children and families.

Who should respond?

We welcome feedback from:

  • practitioners
  • managers
  • partner agencies
  • schools and education providers
  • voluntary, community and faith organisations
  • anyone with an interest in safeguarding and family help services

How to provide feedback

The consultation is open for four weeks, from 4 November 2026 to 2 December 2026.

Please send all comments, feedback and suggested amendments to:
