SCiES - Safeguarding Children in Education Settings

The SCiES team provide safeguarding information, support and guidance through an SLA in order to enhance safeguarding policy in practice in all Cheshire East schools, colleges and settings. The intention is not to do things to or for people but to empower members of staff to do these things; building capacity and enhancing knowledge.

In addition the team deliver a comprehensive training and development programme for those in education who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work in schools, colleges and settings. Through this they aim to inform and empower individuals to take the right steps in order to safeguard children.

If you have children or young people attending your school or setting who live outside of Cheshire East you must also keep contact details for the Local Authority in which they live. You should also make yourself aware of the Safeguarding Children Partnership's procedures for those Local Authorities.
